Bulgaria - Shiroka Lâka

Shiroka Lâka means "broad meadows", a name which is a bit deceiving as the village bearing it is actually set in a deep and narrow valley. It is a typical village of the Rhodopes, with half timbered houses having flagstone tile roofs. It has only 2000 inhabitants. But there's no sense of remoteness there, unlike Kovachevitsa or Delchevo, since the village lies on a well travelled road.
