Burma - In Dein

In Dein is a cluster of Shan-styled pagodas, which has many similarities with Kakku. It's located on a hill on the western shore of Inlay lake. Reaching the pagoda complex requires a boat trip on a little winding river. Unlike Kakku, In Dein has not (yet) been renovated and many parts of it are still covered by vegetation. Many pagodas have trees growing on top or even inside them. We had the incredible luck to be completely alone there: got a glimpse into what the first European re-discovering the old cities of southeast Asia must have felt like!
